Bread Mistake

Remember that delicious loaf of bread I let prove too long? I'm back for a second try.

This time, I used timers and made sure I didn't have plans for the duration of the bake.

It still ended up flat and gigantic, maybe even more than before! (I doubled the recipe, hence two loaves).

I now think it's more about my loaf forming than about proving. The book has instructions on how to form a loaf, but I didn't pay much attention since I've formed loaves many times. But, this recipe is wetter than I'm used to, so next time I will follow their steps.

Here's the final product:

Another mistake I made was putting the bread directly on the pan instead of on a baking mat. I don't know why I didn't use one, but I know I made the conscious decision to skip it. Maybe because the recipe didn't call for it? Or, I thought I'd see what happens? Silly Emily, you knew how sticky the dough was...

Took me a while to scrape it off the pan, but I got it! And it's not too mangled.
