Recipes from Michigan

G and I are in Michigan visiting his great aunt Sue. She lives in peach/blueberry country. We timed our visit to catch the end of blueberry season and the beginning of peach (they overlap for just a little bit). 

We drove all the way out here this morning, we'll pick tomorrow, and come back on Saturday. Sunday and Monday I'll be preserving the fruit! Whew!

Aunt Sue has a lot of recipes to share (some volunteered by her and some requested by G and me): raised donuts, tomato sauce, pickles, peppernuts... She was reminded of a local cookbook given to her by G's grandma, and she plans to peruse the cookbook for recipes from Grace to share with us. 

After supper we picked blueberries in her backyard and when the time was right, went to the beach to watch the sunset.
